In the series “The Ocean’s Touch,” photographer Sorrowful Body, in collaboration with Desadaptado, captures the nude male form against the serene backdrops of Bosque de La Primavera and the Pacific coast. The interplay of sunlight and shadow explores themes of solitude, self-discovery, and the connection between the human body and nature.

Amidst Guadalajara’s evolving cultural landscape, which now embraces a more liberated view of public sensuality, this series gains a deeper layer of meaning, enriching the narrative of self-embrace, experienced within this tastefully erotic photographic story.

HeyBoy Fanzine is proud to present this tale of self-love, exhibitionism, and outdoor expression, celebrating the blend of man and nature in its most vulnerable and powerful forms.

Q) Your work beautifully merges the nude male form with nature. What initially drew you to this unique blend of naturism and photography?

A) I was trying do depict how I experience my spirituality. My own nudity helps me connect with my inner and deep self. Being in nature is how I feel connected to the world. Letting the wind touch my skin, touching the soil with my feet, feeling nature through my nude senses…all of that makes me feel part of something bigger and beautiful. All of what I felt may be seen through the beauty of the photos my friend, Desadaptado, and I created.

Q) You explore themes of connectivity and growth within your work. How do you hope your viewers interpret these themes through your photos?

A) My nudity is a mean to fell nature at its best. All my skin exposed to the touch of nature. Being in my natural state! We were not born with clothes on. I am trying to represent, with nudity, how we are part of nature too. I hope viewers can see how we take part in nature and how every species is needed to preserve connectivity within nature’s network.

Q) You tackle the delicate balance of showcasing the nude form while navigating online censorship. Which platforms have you found most accommodating for your art?

A) This is a really hard issue. I’ve lost around 10 Instagram account on the way, and followers within. After that, I opened an X account and that’s where you can find my work. You can also find me on Xplicit. Xplicit is a webapp funded by a Spanish man, Bran Sólo, who believes in nude art. He tried to imitate the aesthetics of Instagram, for all of us who have been “banned” from there. You can find me with the same username as in X, just search for “Xplicit” on your web browser.

I don’t have as many followers now, censorship makes it difficult to reach more people, but I can tell that my current followers have followed me all the way long and I appreciate their loyalty. I owe them all the new content I am creating.

Q) Many of your photographs seem to convey a story or a moment frozen in time. Can you describe your thought process in creating such storytelling through images?

A) What I mainly try to express is what my current emotional state is. I like my photographs to feel cohesive, so yes, I try to tell a graphical story through them. I have been told by my followers that they would like to see some bts too, so I try to take my pictures progressively, so they can be perceived in motion in certain way. At the end, the stories I tell are my experiences, thoughts, emotions, and desires. In order to achieve this I write everything I want to express with the shoot, mostly in a poetic way. After that I think of the ways I can convey what I wrote with the photos I would be creating. I try to align my feelings about what I am trying to transmit with the edition of the pictures, although I like to make them look as untouched as possible. Finally, when I am about to post the shoot, I divide it in “events”, maybe that’s where people sense this story telling. Every post I make I add either a word, a title, a short text written by me or a quote that inspired me into that shoot and that represents what I am trying to express.

Q) Artistic inspiration can come from many places. Are there particular artists or photographers who have influenced your approach to capturing the male form in nature?

A) I am pleased to tell you who inspire my art. My greatest inspiration is the Mexican sculptor Javier Marín, He has such a unique way to depict human nudity with such a great sculpture style. He uses diverse materials to create his sculptures, including meat or amaranth. And about photography in nature, Alex Stoddard is my greatest inspiration. About naturism and photography Kain (@kainisthename) is my role model.

Q) Facing nature’s elements can be unpredictable. What’s the most challenging aspect of conducting outdoor nude photography sessions?

A) Definitely reaching to the spot, irregular surfaces that can hurt the models’ skin, mosquitoes, and insects. Being in complete touch with nature can hurt and navigate through untouched grounds by human can be difficult, specially when naked. In this specific shoot, I couldn’t get mosquitoes off my penis. For some reason they were attracted to it, and I was afraid to get bitten. Accidents can happen and venomous nature can hit too. Depending on the spot, we should even need to go prepared as a scout.

Q) Looking ahead, are there new themes or environments you are eager to explore in your future projects?

A) Water. I want my next shoot to be in a river. I am eager to shoot in a mountain and in the desert too. Every landscape has its beauty and challenges. I want people to experience them through my photos

Q) If you could give one piece of advice to a new photographer inspired by your work, what would it be?

A) Always plan. Planning is key for a photo shoot. A common mistake is not having a clear plan and shooting pictures excessively. Amount is not equal to quality. Planned photos can always result in something near your imagination, and you avoid having tons of similar pictures to choose from. Inspiration can hit anytime, and spontaneity is helpful, but without planning the work will surely be more difficult. And don’t get me wrong, don’t abandon spontaneity and sudden inspiration, just always start from a plan.
