Q) What inspired you to make the big move from New Orleans to Los Angeles, and how has this transition shaped your personal and professional growth?
A) My inspiration for the move came from wanting to get into the entertainment industry. I wanted to be around creatives who understood my vision. This transition has allowed me amazing opportunities to connect and collaborate with other individuals. It has also shaped me as a person since I moved to one of the largest cities all alone.
Q) As a content creator focusing on fashion, what sets your work apart from others in the industry?
A) I believe what sets me apart from others is that I attempt to do things never seen before. I’ve never been a fan of hopping on big trends. I would rather be unique. I like to cut up a lot of my clothes in a certain way that I have never seen anyone else do before. I have recent been in a very grunge/patchwork era.
Q) What do you find most exciting about the modelling and acting world, and what are your aspirations in these fields?
A) I believe the most exciting thing about both worlds is the chance of failure. Both are very hard to get into but I believe with drive and discipline, anyone can do anything. I love that the individuals in both fields have striven towards their dreams and made them into a reality. My dream for modelling is to be signed with Wilhelmina Models and to do a huge campaign. For acting, I want to do a blockbuster movie.
Q) Tell us about your favourite fashion moment or outfit, and why it holds a special place in your heart.
A) My favourite fashion moment is probably my Day 1 Coachella outfit from this year. I have been dreaming of these patchwork denim pants and I finally got them and I paired them with a white tank I cut up. My favourite outfit to day.
Q) How would you describe your personal style, and how has it evolved over time?
A) I would describe my personal style as a grunge/street-wear vibe. I think it has evolved from more basic to more personal. I think it’s evolved into a more individualized style! I think my vision is very unique. Now I drew how I want rather than how I think i should
Q) What are some skincare tips and tricks you swear by to maintain a healthy glow?
A) Sunscreen. I started wearing sunscreen everyday about a year ago and it has transformed my skin. It always adds a little glow throughout your day and protects you!
Q) How do you stay in such fantastic shape? What’s your fitness routine like, and how do you keep it enjoyable and motivating?
A) I stay in shape by working out regularly and trying to eat right! I usually workout about 6 days a week in the gym. I also hike around 2-3 times a week for some cardio if I have time! During the summer I like to switch it up and workout at the outdoor gyms along the beach in Santa Monica. I keep it enjoyable by doing it with friends! Working out together counts as “hanging out” for me. Getting a group of friends and hiking in the morning then getting smoothies is my ideal Saturday.
Q) You mentioned being a fan of hiking and exploring new beaches. What are some of your favourite outdoor activities and locations in California?
A) A few of my favourites in California include surfing in San Clemente, cliff jumping in Malibu, and hiking throughout the LA area. A few of my favourite hikes include Runyon Canyon, the Hollywood sign hike, the Pacific Palisades hike, and Paradise Falls in Thousand Oaks.
Q) What’s the most daring adventure you’ve ever embarked on, and what did you learn from it?
A) The most daring adventure I have probably been on is moving across the country all alone at 19. I left every single one of my family members and friends in Louisiana in hopes of making my dreams come true. I have learned so much about myself and life since. Learning to be completely independent so far from home and at such a young age is a very hard thing. But, it has taught me so much.
Q) What role do you believe social media plays in the fashion and creative industries, and how do you navigate the online space as a content creator?
A) I think social media has opened up much more of the world to fashion. Before social media, fashion was really only viewed through magazines and television, and you only got a view of celebrity fashion not normal individuals. If you’re from a small town like me, especially in the south, fashion is rarely thought of, so I think social media has allowed everyone to consume new things from fashion to art to music. I navigate the online space by pulling inspiration from everything I see and putting into my own work, or my other fellow creatives.
Q) How do you find balance between your work and personal life, especially when it comes to enjoying your hobbies?
A) I find balance by intertwining the two. For example, my work has allowed me to meet some very meaningful friends who also work in the field, so working can feel like hanging out. I set some time aside to be alone very often to get grounded and to focus on my personal wants and needs. Working in LA can be very draining, but keeping your focus can lead to amazing results.
Q) What’s next for you, Quinn? Any exciting projects or plans on the horizon that you can share with us?
A) What’s next for me is to hopefully get signed with an official agency and begin my aching journey. There’s a few super secret projects which I can’t share on the horizon, but be on the lookout! 😉
